Catching Up With USANA-Sponsored Cyclist
I got a note the other day from Daniel Carruthers, one of USANA’s sponsored athletes. We’ve written about his achievements on What’s Up, USANA? before and he’s always great about giving our readers updates on his racing.
Here’s part of a race update he sent:
I am racing at Superweek — 17 days of racing. It’s a good international field here with riders from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Taiwan, Australia, Germany, South Africa, Holland, and New Zealand, not to mention top riders from the U.S.
Monday was my first race at the series. They are 100km criterium races held on city circuits of about 0.7 mile to 1 mile and are great for spectating as we zoom by at over 30 mph, sometimes reaching speeds in excess of 35 mph!
I use USANA products for my racing and find them to be a key factor in my recovery from day to day, especially when drinking Nutrimeal shakes post-race and sometimes for lunch prior the race. I also drink a can of Rev3 about 30 minutes before my race starts and then drink the Rev3 Energy Surge during the race.
Over the course of 2 hours for the 100kms I go through at least three full bottles of Rev3 Surge (I use half a pack per bottle).
Keep an eye on cyclingnews.com for reports and results. I am also acting as the Cyclingnews.com reporter for the series.
Cheers,
Daniel
Thanks for the update, Daniel! That sounds awesome. What a great ambassador for USANA!
