USANA Athletes: A Quick Update
Every once in a while I’ll take the opportunity to provide an update on some of USANA’s sponsored athletes (be sure to check out this update on several of USANA’s athletes who are vying for a trip to Vancouver next February).
Here’s the latest… Please feel free to send along any notes you think would be appropriate to include in the next installment. And here’s a complete list of athletes who trust their health to USANA.
Andy Studebaker, National Football League
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Andy Studebaker, who is also a USANA-sponsored athlete and USANA Associate, made his first NFL start on Sunday against the defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers.
It’s definitely a game he won’t soon forget. Andy finished with 5 tackles and picked off two Ben Roethlisberger passes — including this one that he returned 94 yards. Wow!
Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating Team
The Great Britain Short Track Speed Skaters qualified a men’s relay team for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, along with 10 places overall in the men’s and ladies 500m, 1000m and 1500m individual distances. It’s the first time since 1998 that the organization qualified a relay team for the Olympics.
The British Olympic Association will announce in January the names of the short track team that will travel to the 2010 Winter Games.
Daniel Carruthers, Cycling
World-class cyclist Daniel Carruthers, who’s also a USANA Associate, always posts great information on his blog — Powered by USANA — and provides followers with updates via Twitter (@bikedan).
Recently, he sent along this update after finishing fourth in a race in Taiwan. Pay close attention to his race-day nutrition.
Jennifer Botterill, Canadian National Women’s Hockey
We recently received this note from Jennifer Botterill as she continues to prepare for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.
“Our Olympic training year has been going really well. It has been an incredibly busy, and very demanding few months but we are enjoying the process. The preparation for the Games is an intense one where we are pushing our bodies each day! The time seems to be flying by with travel, on- and off-ice practices, training sessions, games and tournaments. Therefore, we are trying to make the most of our recovery time. USANA vitamins have been an important part of my training routine.” (Photo credit: CTVOlympics.ca/Brant Feldman)
Todd Suhn, Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association
Here’s a note from Todd Suhn, a steer wrestler in the PRCA.
“Rev3 Energy gives me a competitive edge without the highs and lows of high sugar drinks! It helps with focus and readiness without the crash later. The Peanut Butter Crunch Nutrition Bars are a great compliment to my busy lifestyle; I can get quality nutrition from a convenient, consistent source.”
Timothy Bradley, WBO Champion
You’ve read about Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley several times on What’s Up, USANA. I wanted to let you know he has another fight coming up December 12. Timothy will take on Lamont Peterson at Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California. It’s scheduled to be televised on Showtime. We’ll have more details as the bout gets closer.
