Team USANA Day 7: US Speedskating Wins Gold, Bronze

The Salt Lake Tribune on Tuesday declared “U.S. off to a slow start” after US Speedskating failed to medal in the 500 meters for the first time since 1998. But the accompanying story suggested the Americans might rebound in the middle distance races.
Rebound the Americans did, with Shani Davis capturing gold in the 1,000 meters and teammate Chad Hedrick picking up bronze, helping the USANA-sponsored US Speedskating team add to the Team USANA medal count.
Even more, Canada’s Marianne St-Gelais celebrated her 20th birthday by winning silver in the short track 500 meters. Speed Skating Canada teammate Jessica Gregg finished fourth, just missing the podium.
Congratulations to the athletes of US Speedskating and Speed Skating Canada!
