Team USANA: An Incredible 17 Days

It’s fitting the competition portion of the 2010 Winter Games ended Sunday afternoon with a spectacular gold medal men’s hockey game between Team USA and Team Canada, ultimately won by the host country, 3-2, in sudden death.
Throughout the last 17 days we’ve witnessed some remarkable performances by many of the world’s best athletes. The Olympics are special. Personal accomplishments are acknowledged, but recognized more are the achievements of team and country.
Here’s to Team USANA
Nearly 100 athletes, representing not just one nation but many, competed in the Vancouver Games under the flag of their own countries as well as under the flag of Team USANA.
These world-class USANA-sponsored athletes from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom won 22 medals, including six gold. Only four countries — the U.S., Germany, Canada, and Norway — out of 82 competing earned more.
Congratulations to all the athletes who performed so admirably on sport’s grandest stage. And thank you to the USANA Family for supporting these athletes throughout the Games. It was impressive watching so many of you cheer on Team USANA on blogs, Facebook, and Twitter.

In case you missed any of the Team USANA coverage, I wanted to provide a few links to outstanding blog posts, exclusive photos, and behind-the-scenes video that we encourage you to share as you talk to others about USANA — and especially as you discuss why so many of the world’s best athletes trust their health to USANA Health Sciences.
- An Inside Look: Alan Bergstrom, USANA vice president of customer service, spent the entirety of the Games in British Columbia and posted outstanding daily blogs. Many of them included great tips on how to incorporate our sponsored athletes into your USANA presentations.
- A Gold Medalist’s Perspective: Jennifer Azzi, Olympic gold medalist and USANA Ruby Director, provided all of us with a true behind-the-scenes view thanks to her Olympic credential that got her practically everywhere in Vancouver. In addition to her blogs, she and her business partner Richelle Lund posted daily photos and videos documenting the second week of the Games.
- Exclusive Photos: Alan, Jennifer and USANA CEO Dave Wentz each posted photos from their time at the Games. These are photos you won’t see anywhere else, and they really provide an interesting look inside the 17-day event.
- Behind-the-Scenes Video: The team of Jennifer and Richelle sent several videos very few outside of What’s Up, USANA? readers will see. Whether it was at an Olympians-only reception or a US Speedskating practice or a first-hand look at the Team USA House, these videos are great to share (especially with Jennifer’s USANA logo gear displayed prominently in each clip). We thank Jennifer and Richelle for sharing the videos with us.
- Daily Recaps: Don’t forget about the daily updates posted by yours truly chronicling the Games for Team USANA. Check out the medalists and highlights from each day of competition.
We’ve had a tremendous Winter Games experience and hope you enjoyed following the successes of Team USANA via USANA’s social media!
