USANA Teams with Dr. Oz and HealthCorps

On Feb. 23, USANA, Dr. Mehmet Oz, and HealthCorps® announced they were joining forces to further the shared mission of fighting teenage obesity. USANA will lend a helping hand to an organization committed to dealing with one of the most pressing health issues in the United States.

The partnership is a natural fit, with HealthCorps and USANA having a shared interest in spreading health. HealthCorps was founded in 2003 by heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz and his wife, Lisa. The organization works on three priorities—educating students through in-school programs, creating FitTowns through community outreach, and advocating policy shifts on national, state, and city levels that put health and physical education back into the core curriculum in the United States. HealthCorps has been successful, establishing in-school educational programs in 13 states during their first nine years.

USANA is excited to have found another organization that shares the vision of people taking charge of their health. USANA was founded on a vision—as was HealthCorps—and that strong sense of shared mission will make this a powerful collaborative effort representing a strong commitment to health and wellness for both organizations.

Now, USANA, Dr. Oz, and HealthCorps have the opportunity to leverage their resources and experience to maximize the impact this partnership can have on the lives of teens, providing the education and support they need to fight obesity one community at a time.
