Inside Beauty: We’re Going All Natural

All Natural Beauty

All Natural BeautyDid you know you can look and feel beautiful with simple, all natural products? The best part is, you probably already have them stashed away in your kitchen cupboards. If not, you can always pick them up on your next stroll down the produce aisle.

For instance, you can get fresh breath from coconut oil; soft, vibrant hair from avocado; and rejuvenated skin from antioxidants found in many foods.

Try the following ideas for some low cost, all-natural alternatives to the expensive products on the shelf and see how you good you feel afterwards!

1. Coconut Oil Pulling

This has been the latest craze! People say it’s a natural tooth whitener and it may actually make your breath fresher. The reason it’s called oil pulling is you’re literally pulling bacteria out of your mouth. A detoxification process, if you will.

Coconut Oil PullingHow to do it:

Take a tablespoon of coconut oil and swish it around in your mouth for about four minutes (some experts recommend 15-20 minutes). That’s right, folks…minutes. Not seconds. It may not be the most pleasant experience, but it does help your teeth feel polished, just like after you leave the dentist’s office. Keep in mind, “pulling” should not replace brushing and flossing, but if you like a clean, fresh mouth, this might be the thing for you. Plus, it’s super cheap and will last you a long time!

Avocado Hair Mask2. Avocado Hair Mask

Has your hair been damaged by heat from blow drying or curling irons? Throw some avocado onto your dry, brittle locks, and watch them moisten up.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 small ripe avocado – make sure it’s really ripe
  • 1 Tbsp. olive or almond oil
  • 1/2 c. milk – less milk for more thickness

How to do it:

Blend avocado, then add milk and oil. Mix well. Apply mixture to the hair by starting at the roots and going to the tips. Let sit 15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water. Shampoo and condition hair as normal. You’ll love how soft your hair feels!

3. Antioxidant Trail Mix

Incorporating the right antioxidants into your diet can have a positive effect on your skin. These fortifying gems can even give you that extra pick-me-up you need throughout the day. Another great benefit is to your digestive system because antioxidants keep food flowing properly. Be sure to get plenty of these power foods into your daily diet.
