We’re eight days away from a history-making boxing match on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, and we’re excited to say it features one of USANA’s own.
Mike Lee, whose success story recently inspired and motivated thousands at the 2011 USANA International Convention, looks to remain undefeated as he steps in the ring on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at the Joyce Center. It marks the first professional boxing event ever at Notre Dame.
Mike (6-0, 4 KO) is an up-and-coming boxer who’s quickly making a name for himself and who is building a strong following of “Team Lee” supporters. He’s been called the “new face of boxing” by legendary entertainer Wayne Newton. Television star and fellow Notre Dame alum Regis Philbin will be the ring announcer for his Sept. 16 bout, and Rudy Ruettiger — the real-life Rudy — is scheduled to attend the fight as well.
Chris Vaisnoras, a USANA Associate and friend of the fighter, is setting aside a special section of seats just behind ringside for the USANA Family and guests. Tickets are $50 each with proceeds benefiting charity.
In fact, the entire event benefits the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation (check out this video) and the the Robinson Community Learning Center in South Bend. Read more about the bout on ESPN.com.
Even more, Chris is organizing a pre-fight event outside the stadium for USANA Associates and guests. Contact him ([email protected]) for additional information.
“This is a great opportunity to bring guests, network, and have fun as a team and USANA Family,” Chris writes. “Rudy, Regis, and many others will be in attendance for this fight.”
Presented by Top Rank Incorporated and The Mike Lee Foundation, “Fight Like a Champion” will be held the night before the Fighting Irish football team battles the Michigan State Spartans at Notre Dame Stadium.
