5 Beauty Products You NEED This Winter

Old Man Winter is approaching, and I’ve got the inside scoop on what you’ll need to shine bright during these dark, cold months. Read on to learn about five products that will have you kicking the winter blues.

The cat eye look is still a holiday season favorite. Glamorous and fun, this easy-to-learn technique will surely get you noticed. My favorite way to apply the liner is with an angled eyeliner brush and a high-quality gel liner. Try Buxom Lashline sold at all Sephora stores in Leatherette-black. With nourishing ingredients like honeysuckle and jojoba oil, this creamy whipped-gel liner glides on for a smooth, waterproof finish. Simply dip the brush into the gel and start at the inner corner of your eye. Bring the line to the outer corner and gently lift the line up and out as you get to the last lash. Extend the wing of the liner out as far as you’d like and voila! Pair with a red lip for an evening out on the town or downplay the look for day with a nude gloss.

Lip gloss

Speaking of gloss, Stila’s Color Me Glossy Lip Glaze is a must have for winter. The click pen style applicator features a brush tip that allows you to perfect your pout anytime, anywhere. And with a variety of color choices, you’re sure to find your perfect match. My favorite color is called Kitten — a nude, sparkly shade that you can wear alone or on top of your favorite lipstick. Dab a little extra in the center of your bottom lip to create a pouty affect (a la Angelina Jolie!).

Shine Spray

Your hair, just like your skin, can get incredibly dry during the winter, especially if you live in a harsh, cold climate. Keep strands healthy and glowing with Lea Journo Lumiere Illuminating Moisturizer. This unique, lightweight formula gives hair a healthy sheen, without a greasy look or feel. And it’s packed with antioxidants to help protect hair and keep it looking healthy.

Keeping your skin moisturized during dry, cold weather is essential to help prevent the look of aging. My favorite day moisturizer is Sensé Daytime Protective Emulsion with SPF 15. This gentle cream works within the skin to boost its regenerative powers, making your complexion appear smoother and brighter. Use daily before applying your makeup for best results.

Glitter

Think glitter is only for 7-year-olds? Thing again. All things sparkle during the holidays with a little touch of glitter. Don’t go overboard — think sparkling diamond and less disco ball. Add a dab of glitter to the outer corners of your eyes to dress up your look for a holiday party. Or add a little glitter to your favorite lip gloss for lips that will outshine all the holiday lights. It’s an easy, fun way to play up any holiday look.

Remember, the holidays are a perfect time to try a new look, dress up a boring outfit, or wear red shiny lipstick — just because. Hope you all have a magical holiday season!

I take issue with the make up (non-USANA) recommendations as those products contain parabens and other toxic preserving agents. I tried to find the ingredient list for Lea Journo on their website but couldn’t see it. They’re a green company, but that doesn’t mean their ingredients are clean. I recommend Tarte and Josie Maran for cosmetics as they’re free of toxic preservatives and are vegan. They have amazing products that match any of their competitores. At least that’s my opinion.

All the products listed are paraben free. I often recommend Tarte as well. They’re a great cosmetic compnay. You can find more info about these products on Sephora.com. I do my best to find cosmetics that have *cleaner ingredients decks. Not easy, but there are some out there. Thanks, Jessica

I love this Jessica! I’ve been trying some of the make up tips you and the beautiful Janelyn gave me at SWEET Retreat last year and it’s almost turning me into a girly girl. 🙂 Thanks for the great info and tips for looking great!
