Elles transforment le glucose (sucre) en ATP (ad\u00e9nosine triphosphate), qui est utilis\u00e9 par la cellule comme \u00e9nergie pour alimenter les processus cellulaires.<\/p>\n<p>La mitophagie (n. f.) est l\u2019\u00e9limination de mitochondries endommag\u00e9es d\u2019une cellule. Pour produire de l\u2019\u00e9nergie, il faut br\u00fbler du combustible, et ce processus cr\u00e9e des radicaux libres qui endommagent les cellules. La mitophagie est un processus naturel gr\u00e2ce auquel nos cellules recyclent ces mitochondries endommag\u00e9es pour conserver une bonne sant\u00e9. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Quand les mitochondries sont jeunes, ce sont de vraies battantes (comme nous tous, non?). Mais avec l\u2019\u00e2ge, leur fonctionnement se d\u00e9t\u00e9riore et se d\u00e9grade jusqu\u2019au point o\u00f9 les mitochondries produisent plus de radicaux libres que d\u2019\u00e9nergie, ce qui se traduit en un stress oxydatif croissant.<\/p>\n<p>Sachant que nous cherchons \u00e0 limiter le stress oxydatif pour conserver une bonne sant\u00e9, on peut percevoir la valeur qu\u2019il y a \u00e0 soutenir par la nutrition le processus naturel qui a lieu dans nos mitochondries.<\/p>\n<p>La vitesse \u00e0 laquelle nos cellules r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e8rent leurs mitochondries est normalement contr\u00f4l\u00e9e par la disponibilit\u00e9 des nutriments.
