How2Recycle Labels: Recycling Made Easy
New Recycling Labels
Recycling your waste is as simple as dropping your recyclable in the bin, right? Well, not so much. Because of varying recycling restrictions, unclear labels, and potential false claims of recyclability, there are some important steps you need to take to make sure your waste is being properly recycled.
Luckily, the How2Recycle project is here to make it easier! This program focuses on creating clear, consistent, and concise labels to guide you through recycling requirements. By creating a standardized labeling system, How2Recycle is taking the guesswork out of being green.
USANA has partnered with How2Recycle to make recycling our products as easy as possible. These labels can already be found on supplement bottles in the U.S. and are rolling out in CA soon.
How to Read the Label
Proper recycling begins before you drop your item in the bin. The top of the label will tell you how to prepare your package for successful recycling. For most USANA product bottles, the first step says ‘rinse and replace lid’—so make sure to screw your lid back on when the bottle is clean.
The recycling icon in the center tells you if your product needs to go to a special facility, or if it’s a widely accepted material. Luckily, our bottles are accepted by most curbside pickups and drop-off centers, so you shouldn’t have to change your current recycling routine.

Below the icon, you’ll find the material that the package is made of, like plastic or metal. The label then clearly defines the specific part of the packaging it’s describing—for example, ours will indicate bottles, meaning the plastic bottle and lid can be recycled together.
Each package will have its own label that may have different specifications. For more information regarding label directions, How2Recycle’s website breaks down what each section means.
USANA’s commitment to sustainability is making an impact—and with your help, we can keep our packaging out of landfills and continue to take care of our planet.
