We at USANA truly love the work this company is doing and love to share the great things that go on here with our friends and family. All too often, after explaining where we work, we are quickly asked, “Oh, USANA! Can you get me concert tickets?” And truly we don’t mind that question because we couldn’t be happier with our relationship with the USANA Amphitheatre.

That being said, we want to make things clear for you about who we are, who they are, and give you a quick synopsis of when and why the relationship was fostered and how it has flourished for 14 years. We want people to know about the fantastic things the USANA Amphitheatre has done and is doing. And we also want you to know about the origin of the venue title sponsorship and why USANA was so interested in the opportunity.

So, for all of you far and wide, and for those close to our Utah home, let’s shine some light on both parties and the relationship 14 years in the making. Before USANA, there was Gull Laboratories. In 1974 Dr. Myron Wentz (USANA founder and chairman of the board) spent 20 years developing medical diagnostic test kits designed to detect infections and certain autoimmune disorders. He developed the first commercially available diagnostic test for the Epstein-Barr virus. In this, he discovered the value of antioxidants to counter the negative effects of free radicals in the human body. This discovery led to the sale of Gull Laboratories, and the interest and beginnings to a new organization. In 1992, USANA was born.

USANA’s focus has always been to create high-quality nutritional products that are built on one simple idea: if you feed the cells in your body exactly what they need, your health will benefit. This concept has continued to fuel our endless drive to innovate and advance the science of cellular nutrition—putting a healthy, happy life within reach for all.

This outdoor venue is a fantastic summer attraction also housed in West Valley City, Utah, thus the slight confusion for locals. While it carries the name USANA, it is an entirely different entity with the sole purpose of providing great USANA concerts and shows to excited fans. As the summer season approaches, you’ll want to be completely prepared with everything you might need to know about this venue and how to have a rockin’ summer successfully.

So we’ve provided you with 14 Things You Need to Know About the USANA Amphitheatre and our 14-year relationship.

The USANA concert venue business in Utah has not always been what it is today. There was a time that only a few shows could be seen because there simply wasn’t a venue to bring them to. As Utah grew, so did its opportunities, and United Concerts saw one of those opportunities. With the lack of outdoor options, the minds behind the USANA Amphitheatre quickly jumped on the plans to meet the need and take advantage of Utah’s beautiful outdoor atmosphere at a space just outside of Salt Lake City.

USANA Amphitheatre quickly went from that idea to reality and was built in 2003. It has been a venue for summer concerts ever since, bringing great names from the beginning. The venue has attracted millions of screaming fans over the years and is planning on bringing more in the upcoming years with great concerts.

In its 14 years, the USANA Amphitheatre has created a reputable stellar experience that it easily upholds and adds to every year. Needless to say, if there is a concert showing up to this venue, you can bet on it being a successful and enjoyable evening. Anyone looking for a positive business relationship can only hope for the kinds of people that USANA has been privileged to partner with. There are so many things that can go wrong when working on a grand scale of partnering with other organizations, but fortunately for us there are also so many things that can go right, and it all starts with strong ties between good people.

The project and relationship all started with Dr. Myron Wentz (founder of USANA), Dave Wentz, former USANA CEO, and James McNeil (founder of United Concerts) at a meeting in San Diego. Of the meeting and the relationship, James said, “This was the beginning of a great partnership, and we at United Concerts are very proud of our association. With the help of USANA Health Sciences, we have tripled our attendance from year one; the Amphitheatre is now the ‘go-to’ location for all USANA concert goers in the summer. We are proud of our long-standing heritage with USANA.” From that moment, the relationship has been valuable to both parties.

Since then, attendance has only grown, many shows have completely sold out, bigger names have come, and the venue has been nothing but successful in its resolve to provide the local community and everyone surrounding great opportunities for a fun night out. A title sponsorship is just about what it sounds like. An opportunity for a venue to receive funds or goods to help promote, advertise, and meet other organization-wide goals. This is done in return for exclusive rights to be “the name” of the venue. Such relationships exist all around the world, and have proven to be beneficial to all parties involved. It has been no different for USANA Health Sciences and the USANA Amphitheatre.

Since the amphitheater’s beginning in 2003, USANA has been the title sponsor of the venue. While the partnership was an opportunity for USANA to get increased visibility, we truly saw the opportunity for more. USANA wanted to be a part of the local community and to cater to the fun-outdoor-event and summer-concert-going audience and atmosphere. We wanted to go above and beyond to create a dynamic culture, and reach other happy, healthy people, more than a typical “let’s have a ‘fun culture’ meeting” that you may see in other companies. USANA decided long ago actions speak louder than words, so doing fun and exciting things would not only make USANA a great place to work, but also show the world the sincerity behind our intent—to foster a happy and healthy family.

And with that, the venue began to increase its audience, and USANA was able to brand the venue with a solid, reputable, and locally owned name and organization known for helping people love life and live it.

Now, for those who haven’t had the chance to venture out to a USANA concert at the Amphitheatre, you may be wondering what style of singers and bands are brought to the venue. Well, you’re in luck. While this list is not comprehensive by any means, we’ve compiled a list that will give you an idea of the types of shows you can count on seeing.

Of the many acts over the 14 years, some of the most popular have included James Taylor, Prince, Dave Matthews Band, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Def Leppard (eight shows have sold out over the years), and Luke Bryan (five shows have sold out over the years). And the amphitheatre doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Click here to check out the concerts planned for 2017!

While the previous list has proven to be popular, don’t think for a second that is all that has come to this stage. Past acts have also included Rush, Fall Out Boy, Neil Young, Mumford and Sons, Blink 182, The Piano Guys, Black Sabbath, Dixie Chicks, 5 Seconds of Summer, Brad Paisley, Jack Johnson, Josh Groban, Sarah Mclaughlin, Slipknot, Florida George Line, Weezer, Keith Urban, Korn, Rob Zombie, and so many more. USANA Amphitheatre has always brought, and continues to bring, a large variety of music styles to be sure that everyone finds many opportunities to enjoy a summer night out listening to great music.

Ah yes, the question that comes with just about any venue ever. How many people does the stadium hold? Well, you may or may not be surprised with the official number of this outdoor venue.

The amphitheatre is capable of seating 20,000 people as portrayed in the images throughout the article. There are a large portion of reservable seats available, as well as a significant amount of lawn seating, perfect for the summer atmosphere. While the lawn dynamic is great for couples and families looking to cuddle up on picnic blankets, it also proves to be a comfortable option for those who like to sit back and enjoy the view. Being an outdoor/summer venue, it only makes sense to have a natural outdoor-like option to grab a cold drink, pull up a blanket and some pillows and comfortably listen to some great music.

For those looking for more excitement, if you will, don’t you worry, because you can get as up close and personal as you like with your favorite stars. In some cases, there are even shows that allow you to stand, jump, and dance right at the base of the stage.

The beauty of it all is, whether you’re comfortably situated on the lawn, or front and center, there’s not a bad seat around, which leads us to the next point.

You may have been to a concert, play, or movie where you found you couldn’t quite see or hear what was going on. Or maybe you sat too close and walked out with your head permanently ascending toward the ceiling. Regardless of your bad experience, you’ve been in that uncomfortable place with that itch that can’t be scratched for more sound, a better view, or a more comfortable seat.

Well, worry no longer! Let us help you put your heart at ease, at least for the USANA Amphitheatre. The venue boasts the best music experience in Utah, as it was “built for music.” The natural acoustics, the design of the venue, the location in West Valley City, as well as the fantastic sound setup, you can hear your favorite singers and bands full fledged and uninterrupted.

While there are a lot of reasons to partner with an exciting venue, USANA also saw value in the simple act of bringing the community together. Whether going to a concert itself or finding time to sneak over for other community events, this venue is not a place for debates, politics, or clashing differences. Instead, this musical melting pot is a place to come together, find commonalities, and embrace a fun time.

USANA wanted to show that while the company was growing quickly in several markets globally, it’s important to us to be involved in our local community. Now an international and billion-dollar company, we saw the value in supporting our city and our state, while also engaging a new demographic. In this effort we have expanded our horizons and have been helping concert-going, summer-loving people live healthier and happier ever since. The band you see in the above picture is USANA’s own band the Free Radicals, including CEO Kevin Guest! This picture was taken at the annual USANAfest open to the public. This event, as stated above, is to help bring the community together to enjoy a night full of food, music, and fun. Every year USANA holds this summer event (though it’s not always held at the Amphitheatre). It includes everything from live music and great food to rock climbing walls and summer activities. If you’d like to learn more, take a closer look.

Tourists travel for hundreds of miles to witness the many faces of outdoor Utah. From the red-rock country, to beautiful national and state parks, to the majestic mountains, people can’t get enough of our beautiful terrain. The USANA Amphitheatre did something that some venues only wish they could accomplish, and they only had to turn to the natural scenery around them. While other venues spend millions of dollars to create a powerful and stunning experience, the USANA Amphitheatre, simply turned its audience toward the east and placed the stage at the base of some of the most beautiful mountains in the world.

Because of the unique location of the amphitheatre in Utah, attendees not only get to listen to their favorite shows on a beautiful warm summer night, but concert-goers can also easily see the beautiful Wasatch Mountains directly behind the stage adding to the exciting and engaging outdoor dynamic.

If you even pretend to enjoy outdoors, then you can’t say you’ve lived until you’ve enjoyed an event at this spectacular venue. Another piece of valuable information you may not know is that USANA Amphitheatre is owned and operated by a company called United Concerts. These are the great workers behind the curtain, if you will. Every stellar event has stellar people behind it working on every detail to make our experience the best it can be. These are those people!

United Concerts is located in Salt Lake City and is associated with just about every live concert/event you can think of in Utah. Be sure to check out their site for venues, promotions, USANA concerts, dates, and additional information on everything live in Utah.

The Salt Lake Tribune also highlighted the organization here back in 2010 as the company was completing its 40th year. Take a look for the history and additional info on United Concerts.

OK, so this may be a rough spot for some of you. Let us help smooth some of those edges.

Going to large events can be stressful, and the more popular the artist and venue, the more people drawn to it. The situation only gets worse if you haven’t been there before, or you haven’t got all your “ducks in a row.”

There’s an easy way to eliminate the worry, and just go for a good time—and that’s to know your facts ahead of time. Maybe you have a dad, mom, sibling, or crazy uncle who has always done that extra prep for you. You’ve always rolled your eyes as they came up with some ridiculous schedule of how to get in and out of your event center with the most ease. Well, while they may have overdone it for you, their efforts were with good intentions. You certainly don’t have to go to the lengths of some of those choice individuals in your family, but you may take a note out of their book and make a game plan ahead of time.

Here we have a link to the venue’s directions, tips on how to get to the venue, and where you can park depending on your needs. Regardless of your feelings on the subject, if you plan ahead, you’ll have a much less stressful drive home, and you may not even have to miss the end of the concert to do it. Remember, taking the time beforehand, may save you that much and more at the end, whether it’s parking near an entry, backing into your parking spot, or finding the best exit to get you on the right road heading in the right direction. You may want to check out this Google search to review tips on parking at large events. So you’ve got questions we didn’t answer about the venue itself. Everybody knows you can have a lot more fun with a lot less stress if you come prepared and with your questions already answered. We all know that when we go to Disneyland, Utah’s Lagoon, maybe a Jazz game or the zoo, that something we didn’t plan on will be thrown at us. And while certain regulations, rules, and information are there to provide safety and a positive experience for all, sometimes we miss it. Even knowing something as simple as what kind of food is available beforehand (like dinner stuff, or just snack stuff) can change your experience for the better. Or maybe you’re bringing the family along and would like to know how old your kids need to be to require their own ticket. Take my word for it, knowledge is power.

For these and so many other reasons, we suggest you check out USANA Amphitheatre’s quick answers to additional questions you may have. They can help you out with everything on what to bring, what not to bring, how to find will call, concessions and ATMs available, and so much more. Click here for the FAQ’s.

You’ll definitely want to check out the links provided to make sure you’re completely ready for your fun night out. Because let’s be honest, knowing the details can really make or break your night.
This item is catered more to the business side of those interested in the venue, but it’s no less valuable.
