Why Attend Convention? Meeting Your Hero

July is almost over! In anticipation of our biggest celebration ever, I’m counting down my top five reasons why you can’t miss our 20th Anniversary International Convention. Make sure to check back next week for reason No. 2. Read reasons No. 4 and  No. 5.

Reason No. 3 — Meeting Your Hero

There are some amazing people in the world. And at this year’s International Convention, we have an amazing line-up of speakers who have devoted their lives to helping others. By sharing knowledge that helps others achieve their goals and dedicating their lives to making a difference, these people are an inspiring testament to the power one person has to change the world.

Earlier this year, my father and I were invited to participate in an amazing event with Dr. Mehmet Oz. We spoke to a sold out crowd at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall at the Health and Happiness Summit with Dr. Oz. It was at this point that I met one of my heroes. I’ve always admired Dr. Oz, and meeting him in person only made me respect him even more.

Dr. Oz is an Emmy Award-winning host of a TV show, the vice-chairman and professor of surgery at Columbia University, directs the Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital, and has authored more than 400 original publications, book chapters, and medical books. And if all that wasn’t enough, he still performs more than 100 heart surgeries each year.

I thought my schedule was busy, but I can’t even hold a candle to Dr. Oz’s life. What struck me the most about meeting this man was not all of his major accomplishments (although they are incredible), but what a kind, considerate, and giving person he is. Not only is he amazing in his field, but he is one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

So after his generous invitation to speak at his Health and Happiness Summit, I am honored to have extended an invitation to Dr. Oz to our International Convention. I know the love and support he will receive from the USANA family will be incredible, and I can’t wait for you to see what an amazing man he is.
