Trust Your Gut with Digestive Enzyme

The crummy thing about getting older is that you can’t eat the way you did when you were a kid.

When I was in high school, I could eat a baker’s dozen worth of corn dogs with no problem. Nowadays, I’m lucky to get down five before I start to feel full and gross.

Age plays a big role in the health of your gut, and now that I’m 41, I know I have to be more careful with exercise and diet. Swimming laps every morning helps keep me fit, but how can I make sure I’m getting the most from my food?

Even if you are smart enough to avoid eating corn dogs, you still need to make sure your digestive system is working at optimum levels. And the best way to get the most from your food is by having the right levels of digestive enzymes.

And this is where USANA Digestive Enzyme comes into play.

Enzymes are the macromolecular biologic catalysts in your mouth, stomach, and small intestine that help break down food into manageable, digestible molecules your body can absorb.

They’re vital in supporting the body’s ability to break down carbohydrates, fat, protein, lactose, and cellulose from plants.*

I know that macromolecular biologic catalysts sounds like a lot of jargon, but try thinking of enzymes in a different way. Imagine enzymes as old-timey miners breaking down big rocks to extract gold or silver. They break up large portions of material and take away the portions they need.

Because enzymes have specific functions, you need to have a good balance in your gut to make the most of every meal. You’re dependent upon these belly miners to break down foods into tiny particles that can be converted into energy and building materials.

But as we get older, our bodies experience changes in the digestive system and this can include producing less digestive enzymes. It may become harder for us to maximize the amount of nutrition we receive from our food.

Even worse, stress or a poor diet (composed mostly of corn dogs) can add to a deficiency of digestive enzymes making it hard for you to get the nutrition you need.

That’s why we formulated USANA Digestive Enzyme.

By taking 1–3 tablets with every meal, USANA Digestive Enzyme supplements the amount of enzymes in your digestive track and encourages improved digestion of foods to help support the absorption of macronutrients.*

More jargon, you say?

Just remember that taking USANA Digestive Enzyme can help you make the most of every meal you eat. Your body will be in a better position to get the essential nutrients from the food you eat.

Best of all, USANA’s supplement is unique because it contains artichoke extract, which helps relieve mild, occasional stomach upset, especially after a large meal. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys platters of corndogs or the occasional taco salad for lunch, artichoke extract has shown to act as an indigestion aid, helping provide relief from occasional digestive complaints.*

Just try not to overeat corn dogs.

Instead, supplement your healthy diet with USANA Digestive Enzyme.

Hi Ben, found this site while I was browsing for enzyme rich foods. Thanks for the short write up and the link to your product. I feel that getting the right balance of enzyme is difficult, and hopefully your product can help a lot of people get that balance.
